Chuck, this is a great shot, but isn't this Wells and Van Buren? I believe that's the Insurance Exchange Building on the right.

Thanks John, I believe you are right about the geography, however, I was standing on the platform for La Salle Station, so I described it as such on the slide mount.

I got to thinking about why I made note of the station name on the slide, and I recall being asked to leave La Salle Station by a CTA employee shortly after this shot, who cited a law from World War II prohibiting photography of railroads and transit facilities. It seems the law was enacted to prevent Nazi spies from photographing potential targets, and had not been rescinded. The law could be selectively enforced if desired. I avoided La Salle in my future photographic endeavors.
