Here is an excellent example of a Manchester Locomotive Works built in November, 1893 with the original number 16. This was a BAR class H-2 with tall 69" drivers. It developed a modest 150 psi boiler pressure for its small 16"x24" cylinders. The engine weight was a petite 93,600 lb and it could apply a tractive effort of 11.353 lb. The locomotive was rebuilt by the BAR shops in 1920 and it worked unitl being sold in 1940. The date is approximate and location is listed as Derby (formerly Milo Junction). C.E. Fisher gets the photo credit. |
