SLSF 2-8-0 #1229 - St Louis-San Francisco (Frisco)  Contributor's Pick!       
Good looking Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin) Consolidation type locomotive built in 1907. This class 1226 loco had small 57" drivers and developed a boiler pressure of 200 psi for its 22"x30" cylinders. The engine tipped the scales at a modest 207,000 lb and could apply a tractive effort 43,305 lb. In 1922, it was superheated by Frisco shops in 1922.
