On the 1st order, loaded pulpwood cars L&N #23668, Seaboard System #403377 and Seaboard Air Line #45277 & 45513 are to be moved from the Old Wood Yard to the New Wood Yard for unloading resulting in a charge of $116.00. On the 2nd order, box cars BM #79084 and MEC #20252 are to be moved from the Mill Yard to the Scales for weighing

Bryan Smith General During this time there were 2 woodyards were pulpwood was unloaded at the paper mill at Cedar Springs. They had various names (Old wood yard, south wood yard, #1 woodyard all applied to the same one while New woodyard, north woodyard, or #2 woodyard applied to the other). Pine wood was the predominant type of wood used but several times during the week the mill would run hardwood. Hardwood was much cheaper but wasn't of the quality that pine was. In the case of the switching order above for the carloads of pulpwood being moved from the old woodyard to the new woodyard, I would speculate that the mill was running hardwood in the old woodyard but switched to pine before everything spotted could be unloaded. The new woodyard, which usually ran whatever hardwood was cut, was probably still on hardwood so the cars spooted at the old yard were moved to the new yard for unloading.
