Bryan Smith General Yeppers...those cars caught hell during unloading. They were spotted next to a flume...a trough of water that flowed toward the debarking and chipping area. The wood was simply raked off the cars by a machine that straddled the flume. After unloading there would always be sticks of wood that fell by the car instead of into the flume. The rake would reach down and try to drag the errant pieces of wood into the flume and usually prevailed. But ladders and sill steps often got the worst of these cleaning operations thus the damage seen on this bill. 7/20/2013 6:26:33 AM
