| The 'Marker on the rear' is just clearing the MARC platform at Savage Station headed west on track 2. A new signal bridge is up. This location on the railroad goes by several nales. The MARC Station is called Savage. The list of locations this Archive map database uses is Annapolis Junction, apparently a left over from the B&A days when this was a Junction. CSX refers to this location as 'PA' or 'PA Tower' for eastbound traffic on track2 and as 'MEADE' for westbound traffic. There are references to this being Fort Meade Junction as well, and finally just a few hundred feet east from this platform that location is sometimgs refered to as Hinkles. Hinkles was a small restraunt that closed up shop about 10 years ago which I belive dated from the old B&O days and origionally served RR crew & Passengers waiting to transfer to the Baltimore & Annapolis RR. /DL |
