| Chicago & North Western Railway GP9R 4321 at West Chicago, Illinois on May 19, 1982, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 4321 was built in June 1954 as C&NW 1713 (c/n 19510), rebuilt and renumbered in October 1972, and retired on October 27, 1989, wreck damage I believe. Note in addition to the commuter rear end, there is an extra locker just behind the cab. One also might ponder the life expectancy of a revolving safety light with that kind of support. |
