EMDX GP35 1964 at the New York World's Fair around May 1964, Kodachrome by unknown photographer, Chuck Zeiler collection. This is another slide I purchased from a bin at a hobby shop for 25 cents. Number 1964 was built in February 1964 as demonstrator 5661 (the Order number), renumbered to 1964 and displayed at the New York World's Fair, which continued into 1965 resulting in the renumbering of this locomotive to 1965. After the fair, the 1964/1965 was sold to the New York Central (the only dynamic-brake equipped GP35 on that road), becoming NYC 6155, later PC 2399, later still CR 2399, scrapped by CR at Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania in mid-1987. |
