Some of these cars are "left-overs" from when the Southwestern RR was operating excursions on the line. This car is a former SP diner but hard to say what its history is...

I wish to correct what I said in my previous post. This car is an ex-NP diner not SP as previously stated. While SP had diners that were similar the spacing of the kitchen windows was different.

The car in the foreground is Sierra Western (SW) diner #156 LAKE PEPIN, which was built in 1948 by P-S in Lot #6768 to Plan #7540 as SLSF 36 seat diner #650 ALEXANDER DONIPHAN for the Texas Special. Sold in 1966 to GN as #1156 LAKE PEPIN, later sold by BN to SW #156. #156 was 1 of 8 Sierra Western cars in the consist of the 1984 World's Fair Daylight. #156 was acquired by Jon Clark, and is listed for sale.
