When these locomotives were first built, the old Bethlehem Steel mill in the background was in full operation, producing steel products for industrial America. This is a bittersweet photo, as the US steel industry is only a fraction of what it once was, yet these SD40s built in 1971, 1980 and 1966 respectively, continue to soldier on in these difficult economic times
