Cargill 1320
I went all the way to Texas and ran into an old friend! Cargill NW2 1320 used to work at the Cargill elevator at Verdemont, at the foot of southern Californias Cajon Pass. The venerable old engine is now working at Horizon Milling in Saginaw, Texas. Built in June 1949 as Texas & New Orleans 80, the engine was later renumbered into parent Southern Pacifics scheme, becoming SP 1922 and, later, SP 1320. It was later sold to WRSX, who passed it along to Cargill. (SP fans take note - Oargill GP10 1026 in the background is another former SP diesel: Built as SP GP9 5801, later renumbered to SP 3664, then sold to IC, which rebuilt it into GP10 8268.)
