| March 2011 saw a lot of detours and some mate trains for Amtrak's Coast Starlight, but much of that was planned for. This particular move had to be made in order to keep the trains running. When the previous day's Starlight was trapped in @akland due to slides on the Coast, the equipment was deadheaded under the symbol AMT 11X to get the trainset back to LAX. The train came down through the SJQ Valley and then the Saugus Line. It's seen here passing CP Saugus. |
