ALCO PA shell  Contributor's Pick!
An ALCO PA shell (and I do mean shell) and trucks are loaded on flatcars of the M PASLAU (manifest, Pasco WA to Laural MT). This PA was originally made for the ATSF as 59-L, then sold to the D&L. Eventually it made its way to Mexico, where it was involved in a wreck (notice the large dent on the back side) and used as a parts source. It was purchased as a parts source for another ALCO PA that is being restored by Doyle McCormick in Portland OR. The unit you see here was stripped of all usable parts, then sold to the Museum of the American Railroad of Frisco, Texas. They plan to restore the unit, though I imagine only cosmetically, as there is literally nothing mechanical or electrical left of it.
