Id forgotten I had shots of this old-timer. Half the roster of the Kaskaskia Regional Port District rail operation, this ex-Rock Island low-nose GP9 use to run 40-car coal trains from the KRPD #2 dock and interchange with GM&O/ICG in New Athens to the power plant in nearby Baldwin. The trains could be no more than 40 cars long as that was the capacity of the siding at the dock. Last I heard, this Geep (now in blue paint) still switches the #2 dock. |
