At the north end of Union Pacific's Dolores Yard is CP Alameda, where some of the power lays over awaiting assignment. Unlike southern California's other railroad, BNSF Railway (which operates a steady stream of GE power in the area), EMD power is no stranger to the Union Pacific in the L.A. Basin.
