Chicago Aurora & Elgin Railroad coach 46 at the terminal station in Batavia Illinois, sometime before 1940, exact date and photographer unknown, scanned from a 2¾X4½ print, Chuck Zeiler collection. The posted date is speculated, but before December 1940 when the arched windows were blocked off. This car was built by the John Stephenson Car Company in 1902, had seating for 52 passengers, Baldwin trucks equipped with four GE66B traction motors, GE C6 controls, and it was retired in 1959. |
