| This Sr1 runs from Kouvola to Vainikkala border station to pick up one of the nine holiday special trains from Russia. Beside of three standard connections between Russia and Finland each day (TOLSTOI and ALLEGRO) on the Jan 3rd those special trains full of shopping tourists headed for Rovaniemi, Kajaani, Kuopio and Helsinki in Finnland, where sales season in shops just started. This once a year occasion brought out several Finnish railfans along the line, even it was snowing most of the day. |
