Ted Brumberg General Built in 1952 by Budd in Lot #9660-112 to Plan #9531 as CB&Q 10RM-6DB sleeper #434 SILVER PLAIN for the BLACK HAWK, to BN, to Amtrak #2661, converted in 1982 to HEP #2466 (handicap accessible), retired and sold in 2003 to Illinois Transit Assembly (ITAX), now Gateway Coach. 7/16/2014 7:51:59 PM
Ted Brumberg General 1 of 8 such cars built in that Lot, 4 for the BLACK HAWK, 2 for the AMERICAN ROYAL ZEPHYR, and 2 "protection" cars for the CALIFORNIA ZEPHYR. All 8 were sold to Amtrak in 1971 as #2656-#2663, and were converted to HEP accessible sleepers between 1981 and 1984. These 8 sleepers were part of a 34 car order placed by the Burlington Route in March 1951; cars were delivered between June and December of 1952. 7/16/2014 10:05:53 PM
