AT&SF SF30C 9534 at Corwith Yard, Chicago in Illinois on December 28, 1986, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Built in November 1974 as AT&SF U36C 8765 (c/n 40009), it was rebuilt by the Santa Fe during March 1986, classed as SF30C, and renumbered 9534, later becoming BNSF 5220, later still exported to Brazil becoming MRSL 3738. Note the second fuel filler installed to allow the SP to use its Buckeye style filler nozzles. Also notice the bulge just forward of the radiator section which accommodated the Dash-7 style oil cooler. |
