This photo was shot from an open door on Chicago Burlington & Quincy Train #10, The eastbound Denver Zephyr (DZ), as I was returning from a vacation with my parents in Colorado Springs. I had free access to a Dutch door on a Budd sleeper from Colorado Springs to Denver, because the Rio Grande crew was too pre-occupied with their part of the train to pay attention to me opening a door to shoot photos. But once the Colorado Springs connection was attached to the DZ at Denver, the CB&Q crew took over, and they frowned upon my opening the doors to shoot pictures, so this is the last shot I got. |
