Here is an image of ex-Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4909, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric built in Juniata during December of 1941, rated at 4,620 horsepower, and renumbered "4932" by Amtrak in June of 1973. Looks to me like its condition is now beyond any hope of restoration, cosmetic or otherwise. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. |
