The Elkhart and Western operation between Elkhart and Mishawaka had just taken delivery of a "brand new" Patriot Rail painted GP10 that replaced one of the Pioneer painted GP10s that had been working on the line for several years. With the unit still being brand new, vacation time off work, and a decent chance there would be some good Fall color further north, I decided to make this my second big trip of my Fall Vacation. I arrived in Goshen just before sunrise, and I figured I had a little time to kill before needing to be in Elkhart. With plenty of NS traffic coming, I decided to divert off at College Avenue and catch my first train of the day, CP 230, quickly leaving Goshen bound for Detroit and eventually Toronto ON. |
