| The former M&StL bridge over the Mississippi River, looking up-stream at Keithsburg IL. The original bridge was opened for the Iowa Central in 1888; it's stone piers are still visable. The later structure opened in 1910 and remained in operation until the&line was abandoned by the CNW in 1971. Like most similar structures you really need a boat or airplane to do justice to photographing it- maybe next time! |
