A dreary day became a lot more dreary after 322's train cleared the crossing and the demolition of the ornate depot came into view

I've wondered for years exactly where this depot was located. Now I know! And a sad sight indeed.

I never have understood why they don't preserve them instead of tearing them down. It just doesn't make any sense. Nice shot though.

This depot was in my hometown. My dad bought the buidlinding with hopes of saving it, but the RR later made him remove it. All the bricks, wood floors, terracotta tiles, windows, etc were saved and incorporated into building structures in a local museum. Sad it had to be removed, but we saved as much as possible.
