As a Conductor working the Denver Sub I had the not so fun task of working with BNSf 6017 for its first track run when as assigned as tail end DPU it set brakes and broke the train, climbing into the cab after replacing the knuckle I discovered it was fresh from the factory with plastic still covering the seats and the smell of fresh paint. After getting the train back together with the help of an Engineer behind us we proceeded into Monumnet from Palmer Lake on authorized movement over our 12 hour limit. 6017 broke a coupling again at the

As the Conductor on 6017's first run as DPU fresh from the factory she gave us fits crossing the Palmer Divide and set brakes, breaking the train, plastic covered seats and fresh paint smell willalways remind me of 6017!
