Alabama Southern Railroad Editors Pick!
Eastbound CSX detour train (ABS #100-21) coming in from Artesia, Mississippi, crosses the Black Warrior River bridge in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. A rare treat of three ES44DCs on this short-line. Hard to believe all the wooden "sticks" hold up the weight.

Rick D General Thanks...! Yes it is hard to believe that wood can hold all that metal up. It was fun chasing these KCS/CSX "detour" trains. This shot location is now obstructed due to some city parking/lighting equipment that has been built for the nearby amphitheater. A real shame... 5/17/2012 10:33:53 PM
Jim Dodds General What an incredible shot. The architecture of this bridge is really neat. A wooden railway trestle. I'll echo what everyone above me is saying about it holding the weight. Wow! Seen on the homepage! 8/13/2014 10:32:41 PM
