| Boston Mech. Dept. calls them "meatballs", Wash. Mech. Dept. calls them "ASEA's as their major parts come from ASEA in Sweden, also affectionately referred to as "toasters" by railfans. They weigh 101 tons, build by EMD and they helped retire the last of the GG1's. There are currently 51 AEM-7's on the Amtrak roster.
