Great pictures! Haven't been to VMT for 4 years and it doesn't look like I'm missing much. For several years, 1776 was the pride and joy of the N&W. It literally makes me sick to see the shape it is in now, after being thrilled when the VMT first acquired it. Except for the 611, 1218, and a handful of other equipment, they seem to be turning this place into a railroad graveyard. I notice too that they've prohibited access to the cab of the engine by chaining the steps, but can't afford a piece of plexiglass in the side windows to keep the weather out. It is appalling what they've let this engine become in the last 5 or 6 years. Almost makes you wish they had scrapped it.
