A Union Pacific Dash 9 leads a string of COFC over the south branch of the Chicago River, via the "South Branch Bridge" aka the "Canal Street Railroad Bridge." Built in 1915 by Waddell and Harrington for the Pennsylvania Railroad, the bridge is now on Amtrak's Chicago Terminal. The train is coming from Union Pacific's Canal Street Intermodal facility and will reach the former Chicago and Northwestern main from here. #9723 is from UP's July and August 1994 order of Dash 9s. |
