First of all, he's westbound on what would typically be the eastbound main, so something is unusual here. This locomotive was delivered to the Chicago Burlington and Quincy Railroad as E8 9973, built August 1953 (c/n 18315), becoming BN 9973 on March 2, 1970, rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen May 1978, becoming BN 9907 until retired July 1992. It appears it migrated to MARC, becoming their 91, and it is now at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, Illinois. |
