Gregg Bartley	General	GP-30's are my favorite locomotive type. They are just so interesting looking. But I am still unsure as to why a railroad would order a high hood version when you could have the normal version that includes MUCH better visability. I read that is some labor contract thing, where the union felt that kind of locomotive requires that there be two active crewmembers at all times, one looking out the right side and one out the left side. Andrew Durden	General	It is in operation at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, seeing service on the longer trips down into Georgia, as well as occasionally pulling the Missionary Ridge Local. It will probably be moved to the Hiawasee River operation this spring. The original reason for its lease and rebuild was so that it could provide extended range dynamic braking on the Hiawasee line.	1/20/2009 12:14:15 PM
