Former Western State Hospital Power Plant and Elevated Track for Coal Cars  Contributor's Pick!       
This former Coal Powered Power Plant will be coverted into a bar as part of the restoration of the original Western State Hospital campus (which later was used as Staunton Correctional Center after the new campus of Western State Hospital, which itself is planned to be replaced in a couple of years pending funding, into condos, offices, and retail shops. The former Western State is a stunningly beautiful location and was located right next to the C&O hence coal power was an obvious choice. The presence of the C&O nearby also led some Western State patients to commit suicide by jumping in front of trains
