Flying through Gene Autry  Contributor's Pick!
Gene Autry Oklahoma- named in 1941 for local ranch owner and 'Singing Cowboy' who died in 1998, sits on the BNSF's former Santa Fe line and witnesses the twice daily passage of Amtrak's "Heartland Flyer" as it runs between Oklahoma City and Ft Worth. Today's version has "Cabbage" 90208 leading three cars and a pair of P42s (41 and 121) working in the push mode. The Flyer doesn't stop at Gene Autry- but Ardmore is only a few miles further down the road.
