Description:  Built in 1957 by Budd in Lot #9601-209 as AT&SF baggage-express #3547, 1 of 15 such cars (#3540-#3554) built in that Lot, which was ordered in February 1957; cars were delivered between September and October of that year. In 1971, Amtrak acquired all 15 of these cars as #1054-#1068; the #3547 as #1061. In 1977-1978, Amtrak converted these 15 cars to HEP; the #1061 was converted to #1228 in February 1978. The #1228 was stored in February 2004 and was later 1 of 3 stored baggage cars selected for modification to display cars for the 40TH ANNIVERSARY TRAIN; the #1228 was selected for modification to the #10094 in March 2011.
