There are two Junctions associated with the name 'Brownville' in Maine. Both were on the OLD BAR and still are part of the MMA today. The best know is 'Brownville Junction' in the Town of Brownville Junction. This is where the interchange yard between the old BAR and CP was and today remains between the MMA and the Eastern Maine RR. From the BAR perspective this junction was joined to the BAR system via a 5 or 6 mile branch line from a 2nd junction in the town of Brownville to the south. This joined to the origional BAR Main Line between Millinocket to the north and Northern Maine Junction to the south. Well, now to the point...., along side the main line leg of this 'other junction' is a small business which uses this CP box car for storage... /DL |
