FGS #3 - Farmers Grain & Shipping Co |
Description: |
Typical winter shot taken in well named Starkweather, North Dakota. This is either a very old original print or a very old reprint, not sure which. Please help with information about this locomotive which I believe may be a 4-6-0 ten wheeler built for the farmer owned short line whose tracks were in soley North Dakota. The date given on the back of the photo was just 1916 and a photo credit was given to Ora C. Deal of Enderlin, N.D. |

Description: |
This 3' gauge 2-6-0 is on display at Fennimore to represent the town's former C&NW narrow gauge line. For some reason there's no way to enter both "Davenport" and "2-6-0" in the drop-down information boxes when entering a new locomotive, so I left it as "UNKNOWN". |

Richwood Tahoe Railroad No. 12 2-6-0 |
Description: |
I managed to slip my phone under the tunnel door to get this shot after my Canon DSLR had issues with the dark space. This locomotive is now privately owned in Arizona and the Richwood Tahoe Railroad has been erased from the Columbia Sussex property. The railroad opened in 2009 with the intent of being a special event and fundraising facility for charities and other organizations. The railroad ceased operations in 2015 presumably due to leadership changes at the company. The railroad remained abandoned in place until 2022 when the locomotive and rolling stock were sold, and the tracks and other fixtures removed. |

SRT719RKB |
Description: |
On static display a stone's throw from the Kwai bridge, SRT mogul No. 719 symbolically blows a smoke ring into the blue skies above. This steamer is a Japanese product of Kisha Seizo; 1936; b/n 1352. As it has a JR number on the boiler door, I would think this locomotive was payment to Siam for war damages. |
