Preliminary cause of the accident is believed to be a misalighned switch. |

Once past Tham Kra Sae the engineer will open 'er up and hightail out, making for a great sound show well echoed back by these cliffs! The old rails generously used to shore up the trestlework make the whole thing look rickety but it is definitely strong enough to endure daily use. |

With nothing immediately in the schedule after catching the afternoon meet, we took the short drive to road's end and parked at Pha Sadet rock. After only a few more minutes the approach chime sounded giving us time to set up for photography..soon, around the sharp curve comes this rare bird of the SRT, 1983 built Alstom 4306: it is one of only 9 examples in this order and number series. Likely they were replacements for fleet attruition. SRT would go on to a final order of 20 more AD24's in 1985. This battleworn ol' gal was likely doing helper service and coming home for the next job.. |
