Title:  FWD 2-8-2 #408 - Fort Worth & Denver
Description:  Good looking example of the 1915 Baldwin 2-8-2 Mikado built for the Fort Worth & Denver Railway. This is an example of the first Mikado class, E-4A1. Specs - 64" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 27x30" cylinders, engine weight of 273,125 lb, tractive effort of 66,640 lb. With the exception of #401, all 9 in the class were scrapped between 1955-60. Thanks to Brock Jones (see comment below) for helping correct some information on the page, #401 was sold for scrap in May of 1955. #410 was renumbered T&P 400 and ended up as a static display in Marshall, TX. Title:  FWD 2-8-2 #455 - Fort Worth & Denver Rwy
Description:  Here is an example of the second class (E-4A2) of 2-8-2 Mikados ordered by the Fort Worth & Denver Rwy. Built by Baldwin in 1919, the five new locos were heavy Mikado style oil burners with better tractive effort than the first class of Mikados from 1915. Specs - 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 27x32" cylinders, engine weight of 319,500 lb, tractive effort of 62,949 lb. All of this class were scrapped between 1955-60 with #453 wrecked in 1948. Description:  The last class of 2-8-2 Mikados (E-4A4) built by Baldwin in 1922 for the Fort Worth & Denver Rwy were nearly identical to the last class. The railroad did experiment with feedwater heaters on a couple of the units but as a whole they were nearly identical to the previous class. Specs - Specs - 64" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 28x32" cylinders, engine weight of 327,725 lb, tractive effort of 66,640 lb. All five in the class were scrapped in 1955-56.
