Description:  A nice original photo by C.C. Grayson of CNJ Mikado #856 built by Alco-Brooks in 1918., Specifics USRA Heavy, - M-1 class, 63" diameter drivers, 27" x 32" cylinders, a 190 psi boiler pressure, exerted 59,800 pounds of tractive effort and each weighed 320,000 pounds. Those left in the M-1 class that were not sold to Pittsburgh & West Virginia were scrapped between 1947-49.

Title:  CNJ 4-6-0C #771 - Central RR of New Jersey
Description:  Pouring on the coal as it passes CNJ 2-8-2 #866, the 1913 Baldwin built 4-6-0 camelback #771 shows it can compete with the Mikado sister. Note on the back of the photo states - "CNJ 771 - east - train #202, CNJ 866 west - train #403". Specs - L-7as,69" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 23x28" cylinders, engine weight of 225,600 lb, tractive effort of 36,493 lb. Virtually all of this class served until the 1950's. R.P. CNJ 2-8-2 #905 - Central RR of New Jersey
Title:  CNJ 2-8-2 #905 - Central RR of New Jersey
Description:  Built by Alco-Schenectady in May of 1923, CNJ 2-8-2 Mikado #905 served well until it was sent to the scrapper's torch in May of 1952. Specs - serial #64213, class M3s, 63" drivers, 27x32" cylinders, and from December of 1927 to January 1, 1929, it was fitted with a tender booster. The loco was reclassified in 1945 as class M63. No exact date or photographer was lised for the photo.
