Description:  Built by GE in December of 1967 as New York Central #2884, this truly "boomer" loco bounced from NYC to Penn Central to Concrail and to Shore Fast Line when this photo was taken. It has moved on since this photo to Southern RR Company of New Jersey and finally Rail Tours rosterI as of 2005. No photographer was listed for the photo.

On the Corridor
Title:  On the Corridor
Description:  At CR startup, Amtrak got the Corridor, and CR was a tenant. Ultimately, this moved freight off the corridor to a large degree, as Amtrak raised the wheelage rates to a point that was not economical. There was still a fair amount of local traffic, which was served from a variety of yards. This is one of the locals, with a U23B and U30B working south of Newark Penn Station. McCarter Highway is the bridge at left. Note the EL box at right.
