Description:  This was my first ever sighting of CN 9601 and I spotted her sitting coupled up with two cars @ CN Appleton Yard. CN 2320 was sitting on he mainline just to the left with a broken airline blocking 3 or 4 crossings in Appleton with CN(GTW) 4900 sitting just to the right.

Description:  The 9601 takes on fuel as the 4100 waits its turn."When the CNW worked out of this yard the engine servicing facilities were a bit less"spartan. The facilities were behind the trees and included an engine house. I can't recall a turntable in the early 1980's. The area that held the CNW's eneine facilities, thouxh now gone, is the site of a good busy rail served customer.

Description:  CN local assembles its train of 34 cars at the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI on 15 May '16. I believe they were preparing to head toward Manitowoc, WI. This view would have been prevented by the dominating silhouette of the original Neenah Foundry facility, later known as Plant 1, which stood here for over ¾’s of a century. Established in 1872 as Aylward Plow Works (a.k.a. Aylward & Sons) at 120 N. Lake St., they erected a new foundry at 500 W. Winneconne Ave. in 1918 “in a rural area of southwestern Neenah.” Expanded numerous times over the years, it became Plant 1 in 1960 when Plant 2 was constructed in the then rural area at the intersection of Byrd Ave. and the aptly named Aylward St. (followed by Plant 3 in 1967). Plant 1 was closed in 1994, the owners didn’t want to spend any money to update the plant. It stood abandoned for a while and was eventually demolished.

Description:  CN local parallels 4th St. and approaches De Pere St. (the current street signs have been lazily bastardized to Depere St.) as it traverses the former SOO yard at Menasha, WI with 34 cars on 15 May '16. I believe they were headed for Manitowoc, WI. The sun's location was less-than-ideal, but I wanted to capture a train with 3 locomotives in this yard because it doesn't seem to happen very often.
