VIA LRC-2 #6901 - VIA Rail
Title:  VIA LRC-2 #6901 - VIA Rail
Description:  This is one of the novel diesel locomotive LRC units built by the Bombardier Corporation in 1982. "LRC" is an acronym for "Light, Rapid, Comfortable" (in French: Léger, Rapide, et Confortable) According to Wikipeida "The LRC passenger cars feature active-tilt technology to reduce the forces on the passengers when a train travels at high speeds through curves. LRCs have reached speeds as high as 130 mph on test runs. On its only regular service route, the Quebec City–Windsor Corridor, wear concerns, signalling issues and conflicts with slower-moving freight trains limit this to 100 mph (160 km/h) or less." Retirements for the 31 locos started 10-15 years after the build dates with the last one running in 2001. Reuben S. Brouse slide
