Description: |
Here the AD&N passenger special is stopped on the UP (former MP) mainline. The AD&N wye at Monticello was the mainline crossing of the UP with the legs being the two (north and south) connections to the UP mainline just west (to the left) of this picture. The train pulled across the diamond, backed through the north leg (connection) onto the UP mainline where the train is sitting here. When we left, the train headed through the south leg of the wye (connection) onto the AD&N mainline and southbound on to Crossett. |

45 MPH photo run-by on the AD&N at Longview Crossing, near mile post 17, some 3 miles south of Fountain Hill, Ark., and 17 miles north of Crossett. The blending of the train into the brush makes a unique scene. You can't tell it from here, but the AD&N kept its right of way nicely manicured. |

Description: |
The evening sun was fading fast as the northbound F&P excursion was making its last lap from Tinsman (on the former Rock Island Lousiana Mainline) to Fordyce (14 miles). The train was crossing Whitewater creek trestle some 5 miles north of Tinsman. The F&P consisted of this 14 miles of former RI mainline plus the entire Crossett Branch from Tinsman to Crossett with the last five miles being on trackage rights over the AD&N into Crossett. |
