Description:
Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Meadows Yard near Kearny, New Jersey, on 26 June 1938. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6597, a C-1 (0-8-0) switcher built in Juniata during October of 1925 and retired in January of 1949. Partially visible at the far left is PRR engine #1803, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built in Juniata as an H-8B during July of 1908, rebuilt as an H-8SB in November of 1913, rebuilt as an H-9S in February of 1923, and retired in June of 1948.
