Built by Baldwin in April of 1921 as BO 2-8-2 #4443 (serial #54713), it served for nearly 37 years. To make room for new diesels in the roster (like the one next to it in the photo), it was renumbered BO #427 in 1957. It met the scrapper's torch in May of 1958 at the Willard OH yard. Specs - Q-4 class, 64" drivers, 220 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, engine weight of 327,400 lb, tractive effort of 63,200 lb. No exact date in 1955 was given and no photographer was listed. |
