Description:  Spotted in Faithorne, IL near Crete, this 2-8-2 Mikado #654 awaits its next assignment. Built by Alco-Brooks in November of 1912 as CM&StP #8138 (serial #52211), it was renumbered in 1938 to CMStP&P 654. It lasted until retirement in December of 1954. Specs - class L2-r3" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine weight of 277,800 lb, tractive effort of 54,723 lb. An unknown photographer took this photo.
