Here is another 1929 Alco-Schenectady built 4-8-2 Mountain type locomotive sitting at the edge of the turntable at the North Main Juntion yard near Hermon, ME. These relatively small Mountain type locos with small drivers were for low-speed freight hauling. Like many in its class, this loco met up with the scrapper's torch in June of 1950. Specs - class M, 62" drivers, impressive 240 psi boiler pressure, 22.5x30" cylinders, engine weight of 317,490 lb, tractive effort of 49,972 lb.. Exact date of this photo is unknown.
