Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9611, #9608-B, and #9619. All are AF-16's built by the American Locomotive Company in May of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower each, and retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of revenue service. Partially visible at the left are a GG-1 and two modified P-5A electric locomotives. |

Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Passenger Station in Mount Union, Pennsylvania, c. 1960. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9619 and another "AF" Class unit whose road number is recorded. Both were built by the American Locomotive Company. #9619 is an AF-16 constructed in May of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of revenue service. Note the mailbag pick-up device just past the platform's edge. Produced and distributed by FJC Products of Newport, Delaware. |
