Description:  Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly that was taken in Memphis, Tennessee, c. 1969. The photographer is not identified. Photo Caption: "Alco C425 #2428, 2500-hp, at Memphis, Tenn." Shown here is Penn Central Railroad engine #2428, a C-425 road switcher built by the American Locomotive Company as PRR number "2428" in February of 1965, rated at 2,500 horsepower, and retained the number "2428" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Diesels On The Pennsylvania" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (819-40).
