Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2404, an AF-24 built by the American Locomotive Company in October of 1962 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. Partially visible at the right is PRR engine #7073, an EFS-17M built by GM-EMD in October of 1956 and rated at 1,750 horsepower.

Description:  Horseshoe Curve-1966. Here is an original photo that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, during early May of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2367, #2404, and another unit whose number is not visible. #2367 is an EF-25 built by EMD in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2404 is an AF-24 built by the American Locomotive Company in 1962 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. They are pulling an eastbound coal train, and are about to be passed by three pusher engines returning to Altoona for another run up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and back.
